The starting and finish line is located 1/2 mile straight up the only road from the town
dock. (Where boats land.) The race route starts with a 5K out and back to the start/finish
line, runners then keep going to a turn near the town dock before heading back thru the
start/finish area to the far end of the island where the course turns and heads back to the
finish. Each complete island circuit is 4 miles. Runners complete this circuit seven times
to complete 50 kilometers. Official Splits are recorded for the first 5K and for each
complete 4 mile circuit. All miles are clearly marked as well as a 26.2 mile split, for
self timing purposes only.
The terrain is rolling hills and paved. Views include wildflower meadows, tranquil
woods, ocean vistas and stunning views of the mountains of Acadia National Park.
